As some of you may know, in January I moved from a large city to a village for my job. Adjusting to life in a small town has not been easy. The village I live in lacks so much infrastructure that I have taken for granted all my life.
I am definitely a city girl. I am not much of an outdoors person and I love everything that a city has to offer. I love not having to go far for anything. In the village, some things are actually much closer than they would be in a big city, but others much further away.
Today, I decided to check out one of the nearby lakes. I live very close to a large river and on its edge there is a system of lakes and I’d heard that you can swim in them. As I said, I’m not much of an outdoors person, so it took me a while to actually go out and check it out.
I loved riding my bike along the fields once I left town, some of them taller than I am. The sun was shining and I grabbed the opportunity to take a few pictures on the way.

On my way to the lake I met several other people who looked like they were coming from the lake. Turns out the lake must be one of the most popular spots to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon around here.
I spread out my towel and lay down in the grass just to relax and soak up the sun.
The church you can see in the distance is my town’s church. The lake is not far at all from my house, just a little over 2mi.
The verdict: I loved my little Sunday afternoon outing to the lake! Unfortunately I only got to stay 45 minutes before it got cloudy and I decided to go back home before it would start raining, but I will definitely be back. Maybe I’ll even go swimming there sometime. I love swimming, though I usually prefer swimming pools, but the water looked pretty clean.
I think becoming more of an outdoors person may just be key to becoming a healthier and happier person here. Do you enjoy the outdoors?

The pictures are amazing. It makes me want to go and lay down. I love the outdoors. Keep it up
